HANDLING CLASSES

General Handling Class Information

Handling Classes are usually held the first three Tuesday evenings each month at a time decided upon by the class leaders.
(See ‘Announcements’ on the Home Page for current details)

Open to anyone interested in practicing Conformation showing with their dog. Non-members welcome.

SUMMER
Starting in May, classes may be held outdoors.
The location will be announced in advance and is usually in a local park.
It is difficult to find a park with enough room so the classes may be suspended for the summer months.

WINTER
In the past Winter months, usually in October, classes have been held indoors at 7:00pm
at the
OSU Extension Building/Auditorium, 215 Ringuette St., Grants Pass OR 97527

*** Our indoor location depends on the 4-H dog group being able to use the OSU Extension Building. ***
Current situation will be posted on the home page of this site.

Dogs are required to be on leash at all times, unless working in advanced classes. ALL attendees will be required to sign a waiver, and sign in at each class. You will be responsible to control your dog at all times, and respect other dog’s space. All dogs should be clean and are expected to be current on vaccinations for communicable diseases and are showing no signs of any illness.

DONATION:

A $3.00 donation is requested per class. The 4-H Pooch Paw Raiders provide the practice space as a fundraiser. This money goes to the 4-H group so please donate generously. (That means the wonderful class leaders do this just for the love of the sport.)

All participants will be expected to pick up after their dogs, please bring plastic bags and/or paper towels for this purpose. If you do not have materials to pick up, ask, they are available.

Also, please help tidy up the room after class. Mats need to be rolled up and put in the storeroom. Floor needs to be dust mopped. It’s easy.
